About

Hi. I’m Renee Goldup. I started this blog when I was 25 years-old and almost $50,000 in debt. I’m now 28 and out of debt (apart from my student loan).

I was tired of living pay-to-pay so I used this blog to document my journey towards getting out of debt. I’m not proud of the mistakes I’ve made but through this blog I was able to share some of the lessons I’ve learnt and some readers have also shared their financial advice and experiences.

By making my financial situation public, I was no longer accountable just to myself, but to those of you who chose to follow me on my journey. This blog gave me the motivation I needed to reach my goal.

Even though I’m now out of debt, I’m going to continue with this blog, with my focus now on saving for a better future.

Well done for making the start! That’s an enormous step in and of itself. Being in a “money fog” is one of the ways that we get ourselves into debt – ignoring the details!

Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way.
